I too am a victim of Wells Fargo.
Something came to mind as I read your "Secrecy" posting. At the first Constitutional Convention our founding fathers gathered to discuss forming a government. Many were in attendance including General George Washington. The discussion obviously centered on the separation of powers to preserve democracy. As the debate ensued, the volume reached an unproductive shouting match...nothing was being accomplished.
General Washington a very well respected leader and commanding person in stature along at 6’ 4” tall sat quietly in the room and finally began to rise from his seat. As he did, the room fell silent and the only recorded words General Washington spoke at that first meeting were: "Gentlemen, a government the people can understand is a government the people will support. Any governing body shall forever remain transparent to the people" and he sat.
Perhaps "We the people" have rose from our seats and are now making the same statement about this Country's financial institutions? Perhaps some wisdom to be gained from long, long ago. Remember our first great leaders were also our first great scholars…! Harry Truman, speaking about the “Great Depression” said; “the problem today is everyone wants to get ahead at a cost to the other guy and really don’t care what happens to him”.
Mr. President, it’s still happening.
